Engine would crank over but not run. A second-hand low kilometre engine had already been fitted in an attempt to fix the problem, however the fault remained. The engine fitters suspected the replacement engine was faulty.

The engine cranked normally but would not start. There was a slight popping noise through the intake during cranking. Initial checks showed fuel pressure, spark and cranking data were all present, indicating the issue was not caused by a lack of fuel delivery, ignition, or basic engine mechanical compression.
