The vehicle was hard to start, cranking but failing to fire on most attempts before eventually starting.

The vehicle would crank normally but fail to start on most attempts and would only start after multiple cranking events. There were no fault codes stored at initial presentation, however a P1693 Transponder No Response code subsequently appeared and would return on every attempted start, both with the customer key and with the spare key.
